Their love was celebrated around the world. Family and friends flew in from across the world to attend the wedding ceremony of Jessica and Wesley located just outside Atlanta. Though a second ceremony is planned for New Zealand in December, congratulatory phone calls were received all day from the Eastern Hemisphere along with cheers, toasts and laughter from the guests present at the reception.
Wahoo’s top rated patio was a genius location for Jessica and Wes’ intimate wedding. The guest list was small in size, but big at heart. Joined together by vows they personally wrote, Jessica and Wesley kicked off celebrations under a big tent that housed family, friends, an abundance of cake, and some fabulous homemade, white chocolate covered pecans. (I’m planning my trip to Dalton for refills already)
J&W, your vows were incredibly touching. I am beyond happy for the two of you and so excited about what the future holds. Thank you for allowing us to spend the day with you, it was so much fun and your family is just fabulous!

She came through the door with a sparkle in her eye. She had spoken with the owner weeks before preparing for her bridal portrait at the book store but this was the first time she had stepped foot in it. That’s classic Jessica. A planner of all things and book lover at heart.
Wandering through the aisles of Atlanta Vintage Books lead us down paths past Nancy Drew adventures to the Civil War histories and even a embellished cover to the thickest bible I’ve ever seen. It had everything and Jessica was in her element. Fresh from a run through session with Jennifer of Formal Faces, Jessica rocked her bridal portraits at the bookstore and was up for a run to the park.
Jessica-you were simply stunning and I loved that you ran with the idea of incorporating your love of books into your session.

The day was finally here. Weather forecast was not positive for the day but the immense clouds that were provided were beautiful. It was going to be a fabulous day regardless.
Melissa and her family arrived to get the festivities off to a start. The dress had been a secret to everyone up to the day and I was blown away by its stunning design. Melissa added the details that transformed her from fabulous to gorgeous bride. Smiles and happy tears were abound as family came to get a look at this beauty. We wanted to take advantage of the bright sky and dry ground so we popped out for just a bit but the light flooding into the church was just as gorgeous.
Jay showed up surrounded by guys that have been by his side from grade school to college and today. Jokes were swapped and laughter flowed during the pre-festivities. Jay even donned his red plaid socks in tribute to his Bulldogs playing that day. It’s not often I work with so many handsome men that make up the groomsmen and ushers, but I certainly enjoyed it!
The ceremony couldn’t have been more beautiful and I was excited to have the unique vantage point of a balcony, wish all churches came with those! Though it had to rain at some point, the rain truly stayed away when the festivities were inside and left just long enough to allow us outside to capture Melissa and Jay, married.
Melissa and Jay, I had the most fun time being with you every step of the way. Your first dance was by far the coolest! I only wish we had choreographed a dance, the spins, the dip, was quite a show stopper. I can’t express how happy I am for the both of you and how honored I was to document your day. I hate that I moved away just as you were getting settled in but road trips are in our future : )

Earlier this year the moving bug bit me. Hard. I was bound and determined to pack up two dogs, a house full of furniture and hit the road Southbound. We temporarily stayed with my dad as we hunted for a house, THE house. Merging two households into one is no easy feat and somehow my office managed to work out of boxes. It was a goal of mine to take advantage of moving ‘home’ to finally get in the kitchen and learn how to cook from my dad. His skills are out of this world and our guest room has been converted into a walk in pantry with food and kitchen equipment. It’s crazy! But as it turns out, I’m a much better food taster and enjoy the outcome of cooking but the process….not so much.
During this food tasting time, Josh and I hit the road, the internet, everything searching for houses in the Middle Georgia area. Several houses/lots peeked our interest but nothing worked out. I seriously think it was having our house hunting roller coaster continuously hit bottom that planted seeds of doubt in Josh’s mind. Soon I was being propositioned to move back. Yes, back to the mountains, Jasper and his home. Seeing that the Macon area was a bust for houses, I couldn’t help but look, because looking never hurt right? Wrong move, we fell in love with not one, not two but several houses and gave North Georgia a try again.
So the house hunting drama of 9 (yes n.i.n.e.) months is finally over and I’m not in boxes anymore. Well there is an occasional box here or there but we found THE house, we are back in the mountains and enjoying this new chapter in our lives. I love getting to know our neighbors and hanging out with friends all over again. If you find yourself up my way, I would love to have you over : )
