Kimmy & Randy: Wedding Part II

I couldn’t contain all of Kimmy and Randy’s images to one post, so without further ado….

Kimmy & Randy: Wedding at Chateau Elan

Early in the day Kimmy sat surrounded by family and friends in her expansive suite, hands clasped tightly together as she sat patiently waiting for her hair to be transformed into spiral curls. Chateau Elan’s logo adorned her white robe as it fell down around her exposed and perfectly tanned legs. Stunningly beautiful even before she adorned her remarkable gown, yet a hint of nerves fluttered around her. As she completed the transformation to bride she would stop every now and then and question the small details. How should I incorporate my future mother-in-law’s bracelet? Does my hair look ok? Should I take out my diamonds to show off my wedding earrings? Can you see my garter through the dress? Last minute uncertainties that were just minor hurdles until she could walk down the aisle and join Randy.

Before she knew it, the moment was upon her. At the top of the double stairs she stood with her grandfather as he would guide her down to join her father to be walked down the aisle. The very rose petal, lined aisle where Randy stood waiting. Just under the Atrium’s glass ceiling, revealing the blue sky and rolling clouds Kimmy’s nerves melted away as she joined hands with Randy. In front of loved ones they exchanged vows and stated their love for one another because they were always meant to be together, they brought out the best in each other. She was stronger and beautifully confident just by being in his presence. On the same token Randy’s love and adoration shined through every time Kimmy was near.

I fortunately had the rare, yet fantastic, opportunity to stay at Chateau Elan and spend the twenty-four hours of wedding preparation and celebration with the couple and their families. Kimmy and Randy, it was such an honor to document your day. It was so refreshing to be in the presence of the strong connection that you have for each other. Shannon and I had fun getting to know your family and friends and it didn’t hurt photographing you; you two are so dang hot! haha! Thanks for being bold and willing to roll around in the grass with me. I wish you the absolute best! Enjoy your divine honeymoon in Turks and Caicos!

Wedding rehearsal fun at Chateau Elan

Wedding rehearsals are seldom documented. They are in essence the dress rehearsal, the time to make sure everyone is on their mark, everyone knows their cue and they get to work out those pre-wedding jitters. I love documenting rehearsals. The stress and seriousness of the day isn’t hanging overhead so anything goes. Families on both sides get reacquainted with each other and share stories. Nervous laughter is rampant and so fun to capture, thanks Kimmy!

Wedding coordinators are such a treasure when they step in and can take the rehearsal and steer everyone in the right direction with confidence and ease. Drew with Chateau Elan, was beyond helpful guiding everyone to their mark, talking through how the day will progress and what to expect at each turn. It was so great to meet you Drew!!

Pre-wedding and wedding images soon to come.

On the horizon: Kimmy and Randy at Chateau Elan

I just got back from a fabulous wedding at the Chateau Elan. These two were awesome, full of laughter and fun, and just gorgeous. I didn’t want to leave.

Kimmy and Randy, enjoy the mysteries of Turks and Caicos. This is just a sneak peak, more to come.

August 24, 2009 - 8:38 pm Brianna Phelan - Gorgeous shot! Love the look shes giving the camera and the way he's looking at her :)

Quote of the day!

“I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I’m doing.” -Marsha Doble

Ok, is that not just so dang funny? It’s perfectly fitting as hubby and I are trying to motivate ourselves to get back into running. Argh, the overwhelming desire to watch another episode of HGTV and not get up to battle Georgia’s humidity.

Wish me luck!

Miracle baby: maternity session

They said it couldn’t happen. They said that it wasn’t possible to have a baby. All signs pointed to searching out other options and search they did. Britt and Lauren looked into adopting a little one; they attended the required classes, bonded with other couples on the same journey and had begun to make peace with their new path in life.

But things suddenly changed when Lauren realized that she, yes she, was pregnant!  Britt and Lauren are so deserving of bringing a little one to the world to love on, have their own little UGA football player or Braves player in the making, and maybe a future firefighter.

L&B, Congratulations!!! I can’t wait to meet Bryce in the next few weeks!

Sarah and Ben: Wedding Album

So I have locked myself away in my cave this week catching up on wedding albums. Ok, so maybe locked up isn’t the right word; I did run up to Jasper for a day to meet with a bride, I have caught up on my ‘Kendra’ episodes and HGTV shows, plus I absorbed every minute of the Season Finale for ‘So You Think You Can Dance, dance dance.’ So I apologize for not blogging this week, somehow it just got away from me.

To tide you over to next week, here is Sarah and Ben’s wedding album from their Dahlonega wedding on May 30th.
