On the horizon: William & Brandy’s wedding

My computer and editing software seems to have declared a sabbatical so it’s taking me a bit longer as I’m playing catch up.

In the meantime here is a picture of Brandy and William from this weekend just moments before saying ‘I do.’ I was thrilled to throw in some lense flare for fun. More images to come soon.

June 30, 2009 - 2:53 pm Brianna Phelan - Can't wait to see more :)

Learning with the fishes

Yesterday I had the rare and wonderful opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by Bambi Cantrell. For those of you not in the photography world, Bambi is a pioneer, an internationally renowned photographer. Turns out she is a Southern gal from Columbus and yesterday she came back to Atlanta to teach a one day workshop at the Georgia Aquarium. So in between breakfast, lunch and snacks provided by the Wolfgang Puck restaurant in the aquarium and just before seeing the awe inspiring marine life in the aquarium, Bambi rocked the show. I walked away with tons of ideas how to really rock my business (more of that to come), I have officially met Bambi and got a group photo to prove it, and all in all had a phenomenal day!! Yay, love learning!

June 25, 2009 - 3:13 pm Linda Sandgren - Chrissy- You were spectacular and the pictures of Cheryl and Rod are wonderful. We cannot thank you enough for the joy you brought to the wedding with you. You were unobtrusive, yet caught all the perfect moments - We love you for that. Hugs always - Lindamom (Cheryl's Stepmom) and Eric (Cheryl's Dad)

Cheryl & Rod: Big Canoe wedding Part II

Normally I don’t post dancing pictures from a wedding but this crowd was a riot and their excitement was contagious. There were times that I was laughing so hard, I was crying.

Enjoy and don’t forget to ’shake what your mama gave ya’ at the next wedding you attend.

Cheryl & Rod: Big Canoe wedding part 1

Their friends tell it best. Two people finding love, smitten with each other on the volleyball courts. They joke that the bride and groom spent the last seven years partying at everyone else’s weddings, spoiling the newest baby that joined the group, and sitting back and relaxing. Toasts were made at the rehearsal to the seven year itch and ‘Go Blue’ chants filled the room as Cheryl and Rod laughed and kissed in agreement.

Just as the laughter died down in the room tears threatened to spill as friend after friend, family member after family expressed how deeply honored they were to share in the special day of Cheryl and Rod. How two people in love couldn’t be any nicer, kinder, more loving, generous and more thoughtful than these two. Love was thick in the air as glasses were raised toasting to the life, love and happiness of the honored couple.

Sunlight spilled through the trees on Saturday as one made their way through the mountainous curvy and windy roads of Big Canoe. Cars filled the cul de sac yet nerves and tension were no where to be found in this house. It was to be a day of celebration and joyous times spent with family, no seconds guesses here.
As Cheryl slipped into her dress and the last detail added, her bridesmaids stood back taking in this new transformation. Exclaiming shock at the sudden shift from their friend to bride (and a hot one at that!) they clapped, they laughed in excitement and even fanned the sudden onset of tears. The moment was all too real, the day had finally come.

The day was filled with so much joy and love, hugs and kisses that it was hard not to get caught up in it all. Cheryl and Rod, this is only a partial account of your special day, I couldn’t narrow it down : ) Thank you for being phenomenal, I so enjoyed documenting your spectacular day and spending time with your fabulous family and especially the rocking bridesmaids!

Much love!!

On the horizon: Rod & Cheryls Big Canoe wedding

I could not love these two more than I already do and I’m not alone. Last Saturday, friends and family came from all across the States to celebrate the marriage of Cheryl and Rod. And boy do I mean celebrate. Cheryl and Rod’s wedding was perfect in that they joked they had seven years to plan for it and they kept the dance floor packed all night long. But more importantly the love and adoration this couple has for each other and all those that came to celebrate was pure magical and felt by all.

Cheryl and Rod, I just absolutely love you and your entire family that stretches all the way to Baltimore and down to Florida. I know this is only a small taste compared to the rest of the 5000 images left to edit but hopefully it can tide you over until next week. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!

Kisses! ; )

Tina & George: Wedding at Martha Bowman Church

Their journey began when a friend introduced Tina to George. It was fate that allowed brought George and his ready made smile into Tina’s heart. Always quick with a laugh and smiling eyes, George embraces Tina in a protecting love like no other. Hand in hand they journeyed down the road together and began planning on how to blend their families together. June 6th, Tina and George stated their vows in front of friends and family alike.

ps. As for the little ones, I couldn’t help but include these four year olds, they just stole the show : )

Sarah & Benjamin: Wedding Part I

If the church had bells in their tower this was a bell chiming day. Clouds punctuated the sky, the city square was bustling with tourists and families from Chattanooga and Charlotte were joined as one.

Sarah glowed under her veil. Tiny footsteps taken in ballet flats and adorned in a beautifully detailed, handmade dress (by her own hands!) she slipped into the bride’s waiting room with a smile at her lips. Bridesmaid’s clutched at their flowers and sneaked peaks behind the curtains watching as people made their way to their seats. Sunlight streamed through the stained glass windows lighting the aisle in which Sarah and her dad would soon walk. Deep breath, quick prayer, smile still playing at her lips they stepped out and took the first step down the aisle. She was taking the last few steps before she would join together to meet the man that she would spend the rest of her life together, the man that would keep her smiling.

Sarah & Benjamin: Wedding Rehearsal

It was the way he gently held her hand while guiding her down the steps of the alter. Leading her to their seats in front of the congregation or to the side to receive holy communion. Benjamin’s hand was gentle but firm, leading but not pulling. Sarah, with her hand comfortable in his embrace, exuded a peaceful comfort that was so shocking in its honest beauty that you couldn’t help but become mesmerized. Sarah and Benjamin’s love is grounded in their faith, roots spreading far and wide creating a stable footing allowing their love to grow and flourish.

The wedding rehearsal was a mirage of activities as family practiced processing and recessing in and out of the church, up and down the stairs but in the whirlwind of it all, Sarah and Benjamin were calm and ever present forces. Father, whom had watched over and guided the two through their religious growth at college, kept things light and freshingly fun throughout the rehearsal. I can honestly say I haven’t laughed so much at a wedding event nor have I been so swept up and entranced with the love between two people.

Rehearsal was at Saint Luke’s Catholic Church in Dahlonega, Georgia

Wedding pictures to come!
